Examining Some Ethical Issues in the Context of War -- One of the main questions of this paper is whether the arguments in defence of war can be coupled with equal concern for the laws of war. While a permissive reading of the classical, theological just war tradition draws a number of conclu-sions that can be debated, this essay has attempted to draw attention to the fact that Augustine's questions of disordered political commitments (loves) are insep-arable from the more familiar questions of “right reason”, “right power” and “right intention”. Augustine’s reading reminds us that political desires still determine not only decisions to enter into armed conflict, but also the application of the inter-national law. On the one hand, politics is a means of influencing the dominant powers, a means of spreading their values, but also a means of holding them to account. It is also the voice of the oppressed and the vulnerable.

Ez a tanulmány elsősorban azt igyekszik feltárni és kielemezni, hogy az első felelős magyar kormány milyen hatást gyakorolt az egyházi életre és a felekezetekre. Ehhez leginkább a Pesti Hírlap 1848-as számai használnak forrásként, mint amelyek írott és hiteles adatokat közölnek a korról.

Jelen dolgozatomban C.S. Lewis gondolkodását vizsgálva három fogalom kerül a nagyító alá: a hit, a remény és a szeretet. C.S. Lewis, a 20. század legismertebb keresztény apologétája bejárta az ateizmus, a teizmus és a kereszténység nagy útját. Műveivel hitetlenek és hívők ezreit segítette közelebb Istenhez. Dolgozatom célja pont az, hogy megvizsgáljam közelebbről, hogy mit is jelentettek számára a keresztény hit központi fogalmai. A dolgozat megírásához Lewis nevesebb munkáit vettem alapul, valamint olyan más szerzőktől való műveket és írásokat, amelyek segítenek ezek magyarázatában. Lewis a Bibliához mindvégig hű marad fejtegetéseiben, így számára is a legfontosabb fogalom a szeretet lesz, de mindvégig szem előtt kell tartani azt, hogy ez Istenből indul ki, s mindenek előbb felé kell ezt kimutassuk.
