Az egyház küldetése, hogy hirdesse a bibliai örömhírt a 21. század harcias légkörében. Az Újszövetség tanítása szerint a béke nem érhető el diplomáciai eljárásokkal vagy katonai taktikákkal, hanem csak Isten kegyelme által. A levél szerzője, Pál tanítványa, a béke mindkét aspektusát hangsúlyozza: az emberek közötti és az emberiség és Isten közötti megbékélést. A szerző himnikus formát alkalmaz, hogy kiemelje, Jézus Krisztus kereszthalála véget vetett Izrael fiai és a Krisztus nevében megkeresztelkedett pogányok közötti ellenségeskedésnek.

"Az ember nem csak kenyérrel él, hanem mind azzal él az ember, ami az Úrnak szájából származik" 5Móz 8,3. Ebben az igeversben egy olyan kifejezés áll, amelyet, semlegessége és általánossága miatt többféleképpen lehet magyarázni. Az, hogy e kifejezésnek milyen jelentést tulajdonítanak, leginkább attól függ, hogy az írásmagyarázó milyen értelmezési kerethez folyamodik segítségért.

The occult, superstitions, divinisation, sorcery, spiritualism were abominations all to Yahweh and brought about His judgment. Yahweh made His will known through revelation, by the aid of His prophets, whose words would be clearly understandable to the people in contrast with the ambiguous and mysterious spells of those who worked with magic and divinisation. Israel must be blameless in regard to every form of divinisation, magic or spiritism.
