1712. február 22-én született Bod Péter, református lelkész, irodalom- és egyháztörténész. Egyháztörténeti munkásságának legjelentősebb eredménye a latin nyelvű Historia Hungarorum ecclesiastica. Noha a kézirat már 1756-ban nyomdakész volt, és Bod Péter ki is küldte azt Hollandiába, a könyv majd csak 120 évvel később jelent meg Leidenben, három kötetben. Aki végigtanulmányozza a Smirnai Szent Polikárpus című könyvet, az nagyjából tisztába kerül népünk 16–17. századának, valamint a 18. század első felének történelmével, konfliktusaival és eseményeivel.

Apáczai Csere János a 17. század sokoldalú tudós magyar pedagógusa. A régi magyar irodalom egyik nagy alakja, a presbiteriánus mozgalom legjelentősebb képviselője. Református tanár, teológiai, filozófiai és pedagógiai író. Apáczai életművében egységes rendszert alkot a korszak valamennyi korszerű szellemi irányzata: az enciklopédizmus, a puritanizmus és a kartezianizmus. Ezt látjuk főművében, a „Magyar enciklopédiá”-ban, ahol összefoglalta kora tudományos eredményeit anyanyelvén, magyarul.

Jézus alázatosságának a hangsúlyozása – a „mindenható” Istenre való hivatkozások mintegy ellenpontjaként – a közelmúlt teológiai gondolkodásának is meghatározó eleme volt.

Briefe ungarischer Frauen im 18. Jahrhundert. Briefwechsel von ungarischen aristokratischen Frauen brachten eine neue Farbe in die Briefliteratur. Ihre Briefe sind selten von literarischem Wert. In ihren Mitteilungen verbleiben sie auf dem Niveau der Familienberichte (Klatschereien) und Haushaltfragen. Aber die Hervorragendsten, nach ihrem Talent, bereicherten die ungarische Briefliteratur mit neuen Farben. In ihrer Gesamtheit bedeuten sie doch eine vielfältige, geschriebene Tradition, auf die sich die ungarische Briefliteratur des 18. Jahrhunderts aufbauen konnte.

The role of group work in teacher education. This essay deals with the role and importance of psychological group work with special regard to teachers’ professional development. In the last few decades a new view of the way teachers should be educated emerged, in which more attention was directed towards the person of the teacher. The real self image and self-knowledge is important for religion teachers when we take into account that they are especially expected to be empathic, authentic and able to accept the others. After we had investigated that the actual curriculum of the Faculty for Teachers of Religion provides hardly any programmes which aim to develop students’ selfknowledge, we tried to work out a programme which would help the healthy development of students’ personal and professional self.
