The present study deals with the characteristic features of the ministry of teachers in the early church, contrasting them with the rabbis in the synagogues. As charismatic characters in the early church, teachers have played a role compa-rable to that of the apostles and prophets. In a different order of ideas, we would like to investigate whether the competence of charismatic teachers should be considered universal, or whether they played a rather local administrative role in the way bishops, deacons and presbyters did. At the same time, we shall analyse the content of their teaching aiming to define the place of teachers within the early church. We shall conclude with remarks concerning the development of the teachers’ status in the post-Pauline period.

Jézus, mint tudjuk, nemcsak a tanítványai előtt, hanem egyedül, magányosan is imádkozott. Minden fontos döntése előtt, de főként a szenvedés útja előtt imádkozott az Atyához. Ott látjuk a Gecsemáné kertben, ahol halálos gyötrődésében még kitartóbban imádkozott, vagy a János evangéliuma 17. fejezetében, ahol könyörgésében, „szemeit égre emelve” szólítja meg az Atyát. Az imádságnak valójában útjelző és hitet erősítő szerepe van, és én ezért választottam ezt a témát, hogy jobban megismerjem és megérthessem Jézusnak, az úgynevezett főpapi imában elmondott szavait. Dolgozatomban arra a kérdésre keresem a választ, hogy milyen fontos teológiai mondanivalóval rendelkeznek Jézus kérései?

Dolgozatomban Jézus imáit és imáról szóló tanításait összegeztem úgy, hogy egy átfogó képet kapjunk az imádkozásra nézve. Az evangéliumok által ránk hagyott imáit, és az arra utaló tanításokat igyekeztem úgy megvizsgálni, hogy abból kitűnjön, hogy Jézus szerint melyek az imádkozás során a létfontosságú követelmények.
