Az utóbbi 20 évben komoly változások történtek a biztonság- és védelempolitika tekintetében. Manapság egyre többet hallunk az iszlám és a Nyugat közötti problémákról. Ezért szeretnék átfogó jelleggel foglalkozni az iszlám és a Nyugat történelmi és jelenkori kapcsolatainak és konfliktusainak bemutatásával. Foglalkozom az iszlám fundamentalizmussal, amely napjaink egyik legjelentősebb kihívása. Arra próbálok feleletet adni, hogy miként és miért harapózhatott el a radikális iszlám világ Nyugat- és Amerika-gyűlölete, mennyiben ölt ez vallási köntöst, és mennyire vehető komolyan a missziói jellege, tehát mennyiben irracionális, következésképpen milyen esélye van megállításának nyugati módszerekkel. Az iszlám tényleg a béke vallása-e? Az muszlim hittudósok és tömegek nagy része valóban annak szeretné látni. Vajon hány Oszama bin Laden támad még, aki az általános szegénység és a többi társadalmi probléma orvoslását egyedül a Nyugat kíméletlen elpusztításában véli megtalálni?

Psalm-singing in the Community of Therapeutae Based on De vita contemplativa by Philo of Alexandria. The Therapeutae’s ascetic devotion is characterized not only by searching the scriptures, meditation and prayer but also by singing of hymns and psalms. Hymns were composed by the principals of the community, they were those who taught the community members to sing them and they continually enriched the hymnal with new ones. The Essenes’ and Therapeutae’s psalm-singing indicates first of all the common Old Testament origin. However these religious communities had different self-identity from that of the normative Jews and this identity required for a special psalm-poetry to be accomplished. The Therapeutae’s psalms remind us of the church psalm-tradition characterized, just like the Essene hymns, by responsive singing and refrains.
