This symposium was part of a study week organised by ministers from The Netherlands and Transylvania in Györgyfalva, near Cluj-Napoca, on the eve of the publication of the Hungarian translation of one of Brueggemann's most significant books, the Theology of the Old Testament.

Mindezt pedig a racionális és liberális irányzatok fényében teszem. A források többsége, mely rendelkezésemre áll, arra mutatnak rá, hogy a 19. század második felében kialakult teológiai viták, szócsatározások, érvek és ellenérvek, a racionális, a hagyományos teológia, valamint a liberális teológiai nézetek között forgolódtak.
