Works of Protestant reformers in the collections of the Lutheran High School in Mediaș. Since 2018, our research has been conducted in the historical libraries of Transylvania, focusing on the works of fifteen Western European Protestant theologians, known as reformers, who were active in the 16th century. At the Lutheran Gymnasium library in Mediaș, we discovered 58 theological texts by these authors. This number is representative of the average size of the collections we have examined. Notably, three-quarters of the works we reviewed are attributed to just three of these authors: 19 works by Melanchthon, 16 by Calvin and 10 by Luther. The number of writings by the other authors is much smaller: 4 from Musculus, 3–3 from Aretius and Brenz, and 1–1 from Bèze, Chyträus and Zanchi. Almost three quarters of these publications, 43 in all, were brought to the Carpathian Basin before 1601, mostly in the second half of the 16th century.

Kálvin és Genf egymást alakította, az ember és választott városának kapcsolata a történelem egyik legnagyszerűbb szimbiózisa.” Kálvinról beszélni gyakran annyit tesz, mint Genfről és a Szentháromság dogmáját tagadó Szervét Mihály kivégzéséről beszélni. Ugyanis ha a reformátor egyház- és társadalomformáló szolgálatát feltáró tanulmányokat és monográfiákat olvassuk, világossá válik, hogy bár Kálvin törekvései elsősorban a genfi polgárság erkölcsi életének megújítására irányultak, mégis a Konzisztóriumban betöltött szerepe korának egyik legellentmondásosabb személyiségévé tette. Szervét Mihály híressé vált pere, majd kivégzése (1553. október 27.) pedig csak olaj volt a tűzre.

Negative Aspects in the Picture about יהוה. Approaches of Three Writers of Old Testament Theology. Different modes of interpretation drive to different conclusions. This study examines these differences in the works by W. Eichrodt, G. von Rad- and W. Brueggemann of Old Testament theology. The two former authors use the historical interpretation, while the third one is the representative of the rhetorical and narrative theology. The theme of Yahweh’s negative aspects is always a stumbling-block not only for laymen, but also for the scholars of theology. Differences deriving from interpretation are illustrated through three biblical examples: the heavenly scenes in 1Kings 22 and Isaiah 6, Saul’s story, and that of the Book of Job.

Die äußere Erneuerungsabsicht und die äußeren, erneuernden Kräfte muss sich mit unserem inneren Erneuerungsanspruch treffen. Es reicht heute nicht festzustellen, dass der geschichtliche Protestantismus an einer Relevanz und Identitätskrise leide und in Agonie verfallen sei, und dann darüber zu sprechen, was das bedeute. Nein, wir müssen aufbrechen in Richtung Erneuerung, in Richtung konkrete Reformation.
