The purpose of this short paper is in part to give a comparative presentation of the sufferings of Lord Jesus Christ in the Western Creeds, and in part I also try to define the role of mentioning the name of Pontius Pilatus in them.

Publication › Magyar Balázs Dávid › 2019 › 112 › 1 › Pages: 17--48A Registres du Conseil de Genève fennmaradt jegyzőkönyvei szerint csaknem tíz esztendővel a nagy reformátor, Kálvin János halála után, 1575. május 17-én Jean Trembley, a Saint Gervais és Saint Pierre gyülekezet lelkipásztora viharos hangvételű prédikációt mondott el, amelyben a fiatal városállam morális életét Sodoma és Gomora lakosságának romlottságához hasonlította. Igehirdetése városszerte visszatetszést keltett. Polgárok százai vonultak az utcára, és felmentését követelték. Kérdés azonban, hogy mi váltotta ki a Béza Theodor családjához is közel álló, „lánglelkű” prédikátor határozott fellépését, hiszen a helyi lakosság erkölcsi helyzetét és magaviseletét vizsgáló források szerint Genfben csak elvétve fordultak elő a szodómiával kapcsolatos bűnesetek.
