This paper is an expanded and somewhat more elaborated version of an earlier study in which I tried to give a general overview on the word-usage concerning the passion of Jesus Christ in the early Christian creeds. The purpose of this short paper is in part to give a comparative presentation of the sufferings of Lord Jesus Christ in the Western Creeds, and in part I also try to define the role of mentioning the name of Pontius Pilatus in them.

Naast de sporadische expliciete verwijzingen naar de receptie van de profetie door andere profeten in een latere tijd zijn er een aantal indirecte bewijzen met betrekking tot het onderlinge verband tussen de profetische teksten. Het doel van deze bijdrage is om de aanwezigheid en functie van de traditie te onderzoeken binnen de zogenaamde volkenprofetieën; dat wil zeggen: profetieën die gaan over de vreemde volken rondom Israël. De vraag is in hoeverre de profeten zich van andere volkenprofetieën bewust waren, hoe die traditie in hun eigen boodschap een rol speelde, en hoe die traditie zich tot de nieuwe context verhoudt.

A Babilonba elhurcolt júdaiak életének egy-egy mozzanatát, szellemi kontextusát az Ószövetség is feljegyzi (pl. 2Kir 25,27-30; Zsolt 137; Jer 29; Ez; Ézs 40-55). Ezeket a bibliai forrásokat kiegészítik, adott esetben árnyalják, ám mindenképp új perspektívából világítják meg azok az újbabiloni szövegek, amelyek korábbi és újabb ásatások nyomán kerültek felszínre. Ebben a tanulmányban néhány olyan adminisztratív jellegű forrásszöveg magyar fordítását teszem közzé, amelyek a Júdából deportált lakosság életének, gondolkodásának rekonstrukciójában lehetnek a „babiloni fogság” iránt érdeklődő olvasó segítségére. Az itt közreadott fordítások alapszövegeinek egy része már régóta jelen van az idegen nyelvű tudományos diskurzusban. Másik része viszont az elmúlt egy-két évtizedben került – s ott is jobbára szórványosan – a figyelem központjába.

In this short paper I would like to provide a comparative analysis of the passages concerning the passion of the Lord Jesus Christ of the Early Christian confessions (among them the Apostolic Creed1 as well), because these passages are frequently the source of theological misunderstanding and debates. The main question which urged me to do this research had occurred in relation with the Apostolic Creed. How do we say correctly: ‘I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord: Who was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; He descended into hell…’ or ‘I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord: Who was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered, under Pontius Pilate He was crucified, died, and was buried; He descended into hell…’? I shall try to answer this question by analysing the relevant passages of the creeds which were composed in the first six centuries.

Der Stele Jahves. Sammlungen von Fremdvölkersprüchen in den prophetischen Schriften des Alten Testaments. In der heutigen Prophetenforschung wurde die Frage nach der Entstehung der Prophetenbücher zentralgestellt. Vornehmliche Andacht haben dabei die kleineren Kollektionen dieser Bücher gewonnen. Die vorliegende Studie ist den theologischen und literarischen Aspekten der Sammlungen von Fremdvölkersprüchen in den Büchern der Propheten Amos, Jesaja, Jeremia, Ezechiel und Zephaniah gewidmet. Hier wurde die Frage nach dem theologischen Prinzip dieser Kollektionen gestellt, und zwar auf Kollektionsebene und auf Buchebene. Welcher Gedanke hält die verschiedenen Fremdvölkersprüche zusammen und welcher bestimmt den Platz der Kollektionen in dem Buch, in dem sie jetzt stehen? Wie weit kann man ein gemeinsames theologisches Ordnungsprinzip hinter den Sammlungen der verschiedenen Bücher aufweisen, und wie weit sind diese Kollektionen buchspezifisch?
