Weather imagery plays a major role in Hosea. Hosea 2 recalls the image of an unfaithful wife; Hosea 4:2–3 describes the withering of the land; in 6:3; 10:12; 14:6, the several types of precipitation draw attention to the utterance of YHWH or the requested righteousness; in 9:10.13.16; 10:1; 13:5; 14:6.8, Israel is symbolised by different plants that blossom and wither, depending on their relation to Yhwh. In all of these instances, weather phenomena contribute to these images. In this article, I try to catalogue and evaluate the metaphors and concepts to look at how meteorological images convey theological and historical messages, and vice versa how historical events or sociological procedures demonstrate their consequences in nature, especially in the weather. It seems that weather imagery is used to describe the consequences of idolatry, injustice and false politics.

Az előadás címében kijelölt téma szerint két kérdéskörre fogok összpontosítani. a missziói parancsra és arra, hogy mit jelent ez a presbiteri szolgálatra nézve, és igyekszem úgy beszélni ezekről, hogy minél közérthetőbb legyek, illetve hogy ami elhangzik, az hasznosítható legyen. Ennek ellenére vagy inkább ennek érdekében mégis kénytelen vagyok először az elméleti alapvetéseket tisztázni. Ezután pedig rátérek azokra a szolgálati lehetőségekre, alkalmakra, amikor a presbiter eleget tehet a missziói parancsban megfogalmazott követelményeknek, majd néhány gyakorlati tanácsot fogok felsorakoztatni a lelkész és presbiter közreműködésére vonatkozóan, hogy küldetésünket igazán, ténylegesen tudjuk közösen betölteni.

Negative Aspects in the Picture about יהוה. Approaches of Three Writers of Old Testament Theology. Different modes of interpretation drive to different conclusions. This study examines these differences in the works by W. Eichrodt, G. von Rad- and W. Brueggemann of Old Testament theology. The two former authors use the historical interpretation, while the third one is the representative of the rhetorical and narrative theology. The theme of Yahweh’s negative aspects is always a stumbling-block not only for laymen, but also for the scholars of theology. Differences deriving from interpretation are illustrated through three biblical examples: the heavenly scenes in 1Kings 22 and Isaiah 6, Saul’s story, and that of the Book of Job.
