The General Synod of 1820 is the subject of my Master's thesis. I believe that the topic and the sources it reveals are indispensable for the research of the Transylvanian Reformed Church history. I will start from the life of the church in the 19th century and move towards the source that I have uncovered. In the excavated source, points appear which are connected with the liturgical history, the history of the order, and the rules and customs of burial. A slice of this will be presented and unpacked in this essay. The information and the improved readability of the record will be useful for all those who wish to enrich their knowledge of church history.

Magiszteri dolgozatom a Marosi Egyházmegye esperesi vizitációs jegyzőkönyveit tárja fel, melyek az 1774-1777-es években készültek. Azáltal, hogy az akkor készült jegyzőkönyvek, melyeket napjainkban levéltárak őriznek, most átírásra kerültek, könnyebb hozzáférést biztosítunk azok számára, akik betekintést szeretnének nyerni abba a korba.

Dolgozatom célja, hogy felderítsem, milyen hatással volt Gönczy élete és munkássága a református egyházra nézve, valamint bemutatni azt, hogy miért volt meghatározó az ő tudományos munkássága a teológiai oktatást tekintve.
