Do Christians need to be socialists? Karl Barth and socialism. In this article, the author deals with a “shadow side” of the life and work of Karl Barth. From the perspective of many Eastern and Central European people who have experienced “real” socialism, the right to ask the question posed in the title is evident. It examines under what influences Karl Barth’s inclination towards social democracy and socialism arose. Three circumstances are mentioned: 1. The traditional Swiss solidarity and social sensitivity for the cause of the weak and oppressed. Karl Barth received this sensitivity, so to speak, in his parents’ house. 2. The three theologians of “religious socialism” (Christoph Blumhardt, Hermann Kutter, and Leonhard Ragaz) had a great influence on Barth. 3.

The thesis highlights the complex role of the masses in the New Testament. The synoptic tradition, namely Matthew, Mark, and Luke, depict the masses differently. Matthew is more sympathetic, while Luke maintains distance, portraying Jesus as a friend to the poor and oppressed. The analysis of three Greek words, all translated as 'masses' in English: 'πολλοί', 'λαός', and 'ὄχλος', is particularly important. 'πολλοί' is a general term for any large group, not just people. Luke uses it most frequently, while Matthew does not use it at all, indicating that for Matthew, people mean more than just numbers. 'λαός' in the Septuagint usually refers to the nation of Israel. Matthew, with a Hebrew mindset, uses 'λαός' in this sense, and does not equate it with 'ὄχλος', which means an anonymous crowd. The author points out that Matthew carefully chose his words, and this difference is especially important in Matthew 27,25, where the people take responsibility for Jesus' blood.

Egypár bibliai párhuzamos helyre fogok utalni, amelyek esetleg elkerülik a prédikátorok figyelmét, vagy nem tulajdonítanak nekik jelentőséget. Ezek két vagy három párhuzamban olvashatók, s előfordulnak a két szövetség viszonylatában, a szinoptikusoknál, illetve egy kisebb szövegegység keretében is. A közöttük levő eltérés, különbség, többlet, ezeknek feldolgozása közelebb vezethetnek a textus megértéséhez és gazdagíthatják a prédikációt.

Ez a dolgozat rövid áttekintést kíván nyújtani a karizmatikus mozgalom négy, gyakran emlegetett tanításáról: a Szentlélek- keresztségről, a gyógyítás, a prófétálás és a nyelveken szólás ajándékairól. Nem csak tanításuk ismertetésével, hanem az ezekkel járó veszélyekkel, illetve a Biblia tükrében való megvizsgálásukkal is foglalkozunk.

A dolgozat első részében az 1968-ban történő megemlékezés eseményeit vázolom, mely alkalommal egyházunk megalakulásának 400 éves évfordulóját ünnepelték meg elődeink, valamint bemutatom az 1979-ben zajlott nagyszabású ünnepség momentumait, mely alkalommal Dávid Ferenc halálának 400 éves évfordulóját ülték. Több zsinati beszámolóban van szó az események menetéről, több szerző is említést tesz mindkét ünnepségről, de úgy gondoltam, hogy a két megemlékezés közlése mégsem elég részletes. Azonban az a véleményem, hogy a két eseményt egy helyen is meg kell említeni, hiszen mindkettő többek között azért került megrendezésre, mert Dávid Ferenc munkája nyomán létrejött az Unitárius Egyház és ő egy olyan reformátor volt, akire érdemes emlékezni, valamint mindkét ünnepségre az államszocializmus éveiben került sor.
