This thesis, "Pastoral Care in the Early Modern Hungarian Reformed Church," investigates pastoral care in the 17th-century Reformed Church and assesses its similarities to present-day spiritual care models. The study concentrated on István Melotai Nyilas's 1621 agenda, synodal decrees, and ecclesiastical discipline records. These materials demonstrate that although the term "pastoral care" wasn't employed then, the activity itself was vital to pastoral work. Melotai's question-and-answer teachings, the stress on self-reflection before communion, visiting the ill, and comforting those condemned show that ministers took their congregations’ spiritual difficulties and uncertainties seriously. Concurrently, disciplinary records indicate that neglecting pastoral care led to serious outcomes, with church officials holding ministers responsible.

Liturgical renewal attempts in the Unitarian church from the early 20th century to the present. This research examines the liturgical reform efforts within the Unitarian Church from the early 20th century to today. Analysis of relevant literature reveals a consistent call for renewal among ministers and parishioners, though translating this desire into action is fraught with challenges. The study concludes by highlighting essential components of successful liturgical renewal to guide and motivate those contemplating such changes.

Ez az írás a 125 éve született Járosi Andor kolozsvári evangélikus lelkész-esperes munkásságának egyházi és társadalmi életre vonatkozó hatásait foglalja össze. Az ő nevéhez fűződik az erdélyi evangélikus egyház liturgiai reformja, amely több mint húsz évet ölel fel, míg végre egyöntetű határozat születik arra nézve, hogy a megújított liturgia kivétel nélkül, mindenhol bevezetésre kerüljön.

Miközben a tudományos kutatások szintjén megtörtént az áttörés és folyik a protestáns graduálok újra felfedezése, feldolgozása, értékelése, addig az egyházi közvélemény szintjén még mindig ott tartunk, hogy ezek az eredmények alig-alig mentek át a köztudatba. Pedig semmiképpen sem szégyellni való hagyományelem ez, hanem számon tartandó érték.

Dolgozatom célja, hogy felderítsem, milyen hatással volt Gönczy élete és munkássága a református egyházra nézve, valamint bemutatni azt, hogy miért volt meghatározó az ő tudományos munkássága a teológiai oktatást tekintve.
