Works of Protestant reformers in the collections of the Lutheran High School in Mediaș. Since 2018, our research has been conducted in the historical libraries of Transylvania, focusing on the works of fifteen Western European Protestant theologians, known as reformers, who were active in the 16th century. At the Lutheran Gymnasium library in Mediaș, we discovered 58 theological texts by these authors. This number is representative of the average size of the collections we have examined. Notably, three-quarters of the works we reviewed are attributed to just three of these authors: 19 works by Melanchthon, 16 by Calvin and 10 by Luther. The number of writings by the other authors is much smaller: 4 from Musculus, 3–3 from Aretius and Brenz, and 1–1 from Bèze, Chyträus and Zanchi. Almost three quarters of these publications, 43 in all, were brought to the Carpathian Basin before 1601, mostly in the second half of the 16th century.

Először: A hallgatóság csupán arra a kérdésre várja a feleletet, hogy politizáljon-e az egyház és a lelkipásztor, vagy sem. Ezt én sem fogom kihagyni, de szem előtt tartom, hogy a politikum a közéletnek csupán egyik mezője. Másodszor: Lesznek olyan mondataim, amelyek nem valamelyik egyház – például az Erdélyi Református Egyház – álláspontját tükrözik. Harmadszor: Ebből következik, hogy az elmondottakkal lehet szabadon vitatkozni.

A virágvasárnapi bevonulást mind a négy evangélista feljegyzi. Jézus Galileából kiindulva, a főváros közelében levő Betánián keresztül érkezik. A szinoptikusok szerint utasítja tanítványait, hogy előkészítsék a bevonulást, János nem erről beszél. Jézus Jeruzsálemben „talál” egy szamárcsikót s csak ott ül fel rá. A királymotívum mind a négynél megjelenik, Márknál azonban nem őt, hanem Dávid országát üdvözlik. (A többi eltérést lásd a versek elemzésénél.)

Psalm-singing in the Community of Therapeutae Based on De vita contemplativa by Philo of Alexandria. The Therapeutae’s ascetic devotion is characterized not only by searching the scriptures, meditation and prayer but also by singing of hymns and psalms. Hymns were composed by the principals of the community, they were those who taught the community members to sing them and they continually enriched the hymnal with new ones. The Essenes’ and Therapeutae’s psalm-singing indicates first of all the common Old Testament origin. However these religious communities had different self-identity from that of the normative Jews and this identity required for a special psalm-poetry to be accomplished. The Therapeutae’s psalms remind us of the church psalm-tradition characterized, just like the Essene hymns, by responsive singing and refrains.

Kányádi Sándor 1929-ben született az erdélyi Nagygalambfalván, földműves családban. Középiskolás éveiből hármat a székelyudvarhelyi református Kollégiumban, egyet a Római Katolikus Főgimnáziumban végzett, majd négy éven keresztül a Fémipari Líceumba járt. 1950-ben költözött Kolozsvárra, ma is ott él. A kolozsvári Bolyai Tudományegyetemen tanult irodalmat. Ezt követően versírással, többek között gyermekversek írásával, verseinek kiadásával, műfordítással foglalkozik. Több folyóiratnál dolgozott, évtizedeken keresztül. Meghatározó témái a politika és a vallás, csakúgy, mint a személyes értékek és a szeretet, az eszkatológia vagy a reménység.
