Valentinus and His Teaching in the Light of Modern Research and Ancient Christian Heresiology -- The first part of this paper contains a summary of the life and teachings of Valentinus written by Bernadett Szűcs, in which the author sketches the most important aspects of this complex topic based on the early Christian primary sources harmonized with the state of the modern research. As an appendix to this introduction, the second part of this paper, written by György Papp contains the first Hungarian translation (accompanied by the original Greek text from the recently published critical edition) of one of the primary sources with a short introduction, to the text: the chapter about Valentinus in the Haereticarum fabularum compendium of Theodoret of Cyrus.

Isa 8:16 is considered a key reference regarding the formation of the book of Isaiah and the role of prophetic disciples in this process. This article argues, however, that originally this verse had a more limited significance. The instruction to which v. 16 refers is to be identified with vv. 12-15 rather than an early ‘book’ of Isaiah. The expression ‘the instructed ones’ (of YHWH rather than the prophet) is applied to the prophet’s audience. This term reflects Isaiah’s characteristic view of prophesying as an act of instruction and prophecy as a form of teaching, and it does not presuppose the existence of any prophetic school. The view that sealing the instruction would allude to preserving prophetic teaching for the posterity is discounted here in favour of understanding the symbolic act as a metaphor from the legal sphere refering to authentication, with no inherent temporal significance.

A licenciátusi dolgozatomban egy általános leírást nyújtok a 19. századról, Erdély népességéről. Az 1785-ös népszámláláson a magyarok létszáma Erdélyben mindössze 33%. Az akkori kor mezőgazdasága, ipara és kereskedelme akkor kezdett fellendülni és a kulturális épp fellendülőben volt. Láthattuk, hogy a kultúrában is jelentős fejlődés kezdődött, hisz fellendült a könyv írás és nyomtatás, így könnyebbé és elérhetőbbé vált a tanulás, ennek következtében több és több ember járt iskolába és művelte magát. Egyházi szempontból kétségtelenül az egyik, ha nem a legfontosabb esemény az II. József a Türelmi Rendeletének a kiadása volt. Előzményei közé tartozott, hogy Mária Terézia idejében olyan törvény volt érvényben, ami nem engedte meg a protestáns híveknek a szabad vallásgyakorlást az ország bármely pontján, csak a kijelölteken. II. József ezt akarta felszámolni a Türelmi Rendelettel.

A tanítványság intézménye rendkívüli jelentőséggel bír az Újszövetség szempontjából. De vajon van-e valamilyen nyoma ennek az intézménynek a hellenista világon túl? Beszélhetünk-e tanítványságról az Ószövetségben? Játszott-e valamiféle szerepet az Ószövetség abban, hogy a tanítványság ilyen formát öltött a zsidóságon belül?

Hogyan értelmezték az Újszövetséget a korai keresztyének? Ez alkalommal arról szeretnék röviden beszélni, hogy miképpen értelmezték és vitatták az 1Kor 15 egyik szakaszát a 2. és 4. évszázad között. Az 1Kor 15-ben Pál apostol Jézus Krisztus feltámadásával és a keresztyének végidőkben bekövetkezendő feltámadásával foglalkozik. Előadásomban ennek a fejezetnek a második felére, a 35-55. versekre fogok összpontosítani, amelyben az apostol a keresztyének feltámadásáról ír.
