The General Synod of 1820 is the subject of my Master's thesis. I believe that the topic and the sources it reveals are indispensable for the research of the Transylvanian Reformed Church history. I will start from the life of the church in the 19th century and move towards the source that I have uncovered. In the excavated source, points appear which are connected with the liturgical history, the history of the order, and the rules and customs of burial. A slice of this will be presented and unpacked in this essay. The information and the improved readability of the record will be useful for all those who wish to enrich their knowledge of church history.

Dolgozatom célja, hogy jobban megismerjük a Marosi Református Egyházmegye múltját az 1815-ös vizitációs jegyzőkönyvek alapján. Az adatokat nem csak nyersen közlöm, hanem témák szerint csoportosítva értelmezem is azokat, hogy az olvasó egy könnyen olvasható, jól strukturált szöveg alapján jól eligazodjon, könnyebben megértse a jeygzőkönyvben leírtakat. A dolgozatomban kitérek a kor református egyháztörténetére, valamint a Marosi Református Egyházmegye történetére is, hogy ez által még tágabb képet kapjunk, és a leírtakat könnyebben értelmezhessük.

Dolgozatomban először arra térek ki, hogy miért volt szükséges az istentiszteleti reform, majd ismertetem a liturgia hanyatlásának folyamatát és a 20. századi reformtörekvéseket Németországban és Magyarországon. Ezután az erdélyi viszonyokra térek ki. A kutatásom során fellelt forrásokat időrendi sorrendbe helyeztem, hogy a liturgikus mozgalom folyamatáról követhető képet alkossak. A kép nem teljes, de irányadó és következtetni enged arra, ahogyan a folyamat lezajlott.
