Dolgozatomban a Sepsi Református Egyházmegye temetési szertartásainak paraliturgikus elemeivel foglalkozom. Ez azt jelenti, hogy elsősorban azokat a szokásokat, gyakorlatokat gyűjtöm és elemzem, amelyek nem tartoznak a temetési liturgiához, de egy közösség gyakorolja azokat a temetés előtt, alatt vagy után. Dolgozatom során válaszokat keresek különféle elméleti kérdésekre a temetéssel kapcsolatosan. Érdekel a temetés istentiszteleti jellege, a temetési szertartás történelmi alakulása, valamint szeretetszolgálati jellege. Választ keresek arra, hogy melyek is pontosan a paraliturgikus elemek és miért fontosak. Mindezek fényében elemezem a gyülekezetekben gyűjtött adatokat. Válasz keresek arra, hogy milyen összefüggés van a paraliturgikus elemek és a lelkigondozás, a közösség formálása és a halálhoz való helyes viszonyulás között. Végül az igehirdetés fontosságát vizsgálom meg.

“Let the Dead Bury Their Dead”. Jewish Funerary Customs and Matthew 8:21–22. Funerary customs are inseparable from the fifth commandment. They impose strict obligations on relatives, lasting until the end of a one-year period. The practice of ossilegium, that is, the collection of the bones of the deceased, marks the conclusion of this process. When decomposition completes its cycle, the deceased is “survived”. The buried individual finds comfort in the expiatory disintegration he/she undergoes. However, this process causes pain and discomfort, which is why the commitment to the deceased is so crucial: the surviving relatives must care for the body to alleviate the discomforts of its decay. Rituals honouring the departed ensure final peace and secure the transition from the world of the living to the world of the “fathers”. Neglecting these duties results in pain, suffering, and shame—not only for the deceased but also for the careless and negligent kin.

Valentinus and His Teaching in the Light of Modern Research and Ancient Christian Heresiology -- The first part of this paper contains a summary of the life and teachings of Valentinus written by Bernadett Szűcs, in which the author sketches the most important aspects of this complex topic based on the early Christian primary sources harmonized with the state of the modern research. As an appendix to this introduction, the second part of this paper, written by György Papp contains the first Hungarian translation (accompanied by the original Greek text from the recently published critical edition) of one of the primary sources with a short introduction, to the text: the chapter about Valentinus in the Haereticarum fabularum compendium of Theodoret of Cyrus.

This paper presents the doctrine on baptism in the Haereticarum fabularum compendium of Theodoret of Cyrus. From this presentation we learn that Theodoret presents in this work a multi-contextual image of the “all-holy” baptism. The divine origin of the sacrament determined Theodoret to offer it a special place within his theological system. This special place is expressed through the setting of the chapter concerning baptism as well: it is put between the soteriological Christology and the chapters concerning Theodoret’s eschatology, the latter being an introduction to the ethical chapters.

Kutatásom témája a valláslélektan és a vallásos néprajz körét érinti, amely jórészt felfedezetlen terület. A néprajzkutatás előszeretettel kutatja és tárja fel az életfordulókhoz (les rites de passage) kötődő szokásokat és rítusokat, viszont kevés olyan munka született, amely egyháziteológiai szempontból vizsgálná és írná le a református népi vallásosság évszázadokon át ápolt szertartásait.

Ebben a tanulmányban azokat a pontokat vizsgálom, ahol az emberi életre vonatkozó meglátásaik találkoznak vagy szétválnak ugyan, de adott szakaszon át párhuzamosan haladnak, miközben sejthető, hogy mindkét egyenes ugyanahhoz a szamárvezetőhöz igazodik. Vizsgálódásom nem a szokványos tartalomismertetés vagy pszichológiai rendszerbe való besorolás útját követi, nem is a közös antropológia megírására vállalkozom. Inkább azt szeretném felmutatni, hogy miként olvasható Frankl Böszörményi-Nagy kontextusában.
