A homiletika területén az egyik legizgalmasabb kérdés a szöveg-lelkész-lelkipásztor hármaselemű dinamikája. Eezeket az alkotóelemeket gyakran egyénileg vizsgálják. Mi alkotja a szöveget? Ki a lelkipásztor? Mi jellemzi a prédikációt? A kortárs párbeszédben jól értjük ezeket az egyéni összetevőket. Mégis a homiletikai összetevők közötti kapcsolat megértése továbbra is bizonyos mértékig nehezen átlátható. A szöveg-lelkész-lelkipásztor hármasa mellett a tanulmány foglalkozik a hermeneutikai szöveg-szerző-olvasó háromszöggel. Fontos felismerni azt, hogy az előbbi dinamikáját és hatékonyságát jelentősen befolyásolja az utóbbi működése.

This is a study of Isaiah 18-20, three chapters in the so-called Isaianic prophecies concerning the nations, Isaiah 13-23 (24-27). Beyond being located close to each other in this literary corpus, there is at least one common element that ties these three chapters together: Isaiah 18-20 deal with two neighbouring countries of the Nile, Kush and Egypt respectively. The two lands were politically closely related in the era of the prophet Isaiah, so that addressing them in proximity to each other should not be surprising in a book set in the period of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah (Isaiah 1:1). Through a detailed analysis of the three chapters I hope to contribute to a better understanding of the collection of prophecies on the nations in the book of Isaiah and, more remotely, of the wider phenomenon of prophecies concerning the nations, so prevalent in the Hebrew Bible.

The purpose of this study is twofold. First, it sets the historical context in which Aphrahat wrote his Demonstrations and deals with the interesting relationship between his writings, ‘against the Jews’ and the Sassanian persecution of Christians. It also treats his refutation of the Jewish charges. Secondly, it addresses his ‘unique’ view of christology which is not in line with the Nicene decision concerning one aspect yet at the same time it is congruent with it. The paper also tries to point out that his view on christology was ‘unique’ but not exceptional in the Early Church.
