Az erdélyi református egyház a trianoni békeszerződés után egy teljesen új, addig soha nem tapasztalt helyzetben találta megát. Az impériumváltást követő években azonban elindult egy eszmei útkeresés nemcsak az irodalom és a közélet terén, hanem az egyház életében is. Az erdélyi magyar értelmiség ezen útkereséséhez jelentős mértékben hozzájárultak a korabeli református egyház vezetői, teológiai tanárai és lelkipásztorai, akiknek elmélkedéseik, gondolataik ma is jelentős tartalommal és hatással bírnak. Jelen tanulmány célja az volt, hogy feltárja ezeket az 1920 és 1944 között megjelent kiadványokat egy eszme- és egyháztörténeti keretbe foglalva és időrend szerint ismertesse a korabeli református értelmiség nemzetszemléletét.

Valentinus and His Teaching in the Light of Modern Research and Ancient Christian Heresiology -- The first part of this paper contains a summary of the life and teachings of Valentinus written by Bernadett Szűcs, in which the author sketches the most important aspects of this complex topic based on the early Christian primary sources harmonized with the state of the modern research. As an appendix to this introduction, the second part of this paper, written by György Papp contains the first Hungarian translation (accompanied by the original Greek text from the recently published critical edition) of one of the primary sources with a short introduction, to the text: the chapter about Valentinus in the Haereticarum fabularum compendium of Theodoret of Cyrus.

Theis paper analyses the concept of “imago Dei” based on the 6th answer of the Heidelberg Catechism. I chose this topic as it is one of the most controversial questions of systematic theology. If one browses through the dogmatic and ethical works written from the earliest period of Christianity to the most recent times, they will find a large variety of answers. All of these attempt to explain what the writer of Genesis meant by the expression na‘aśęh ’ ādām beṣalmenu kidemutenu. The Heidelberg Catechism deals with this topic in the 6th answer where the authors attested that God did not create the first human being godless and malicious. After stating that as a matter of fact, God created man according to his own image and likeness, the Catechism explains the term imago Dei in a twofold way: first, it seeks to define the inner content of the image and similitude of God, and secondly it expands upon the purpose of man given by God as the image of his creator within the creation.

Már gyerekkorom óta érdekel a történelem, és azon belül is a helytörténet. Ezért is választottam dolgozatom témájaként, a Székelyvajai Református Egyházközség történetének a megírását. Arra vállalkoztam, hogy dolgozatom által bemutatom a Székelyvajai Egyházközség történelmét a katolikus gyökerektől egészen a kommunizmus bukásáig. A székelyvajával kapcsolatos szakirodalom mellett felhasználtam az egyházközség levéltárában fellelhető jegyzőkönyveket, a falu Hystoria Domusat, és olyan lelkészek írásait, akik régen a gyülekezetben szolgáltak. Úgy gondolom, hogy munkám hasznos lehet azok számára, akiket érdekel az egyháztörténet, vagy azoknak, akik jobban megszeretnék ismerni a Székelyvajai Egyházközség Történetét.
