If we are commanded to remember the Sabbath in the Ten Commandments, why do we go to worship on Sunday? In my paper, I am seeking possible answers to this question. At the beginning of my research, I outline the position of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. In the following sections, I aim to present a biblical alternative to this position. I argue that the Sabbath institution was not known to the Jewish people before their wilderness wanderings. But here it becomes the sign of the Mosaic covenant. Since the covenant was made with the Jews, the Lord does not require foreign nations to observe the Sabbath. But God promises to make a new covenant that will not only apply to the Jews. This has been realised in Jesus Christ. He is the one to whom the Sabbath points. In light of this, we cannot cling to the shadow when the light of the world has come among us.

The purpose of the Epistle to the Hebrews. In this essay we argue that the particular purpose of Hebrews is obscure for the modern reader. It is clear, that it was addressed to a particular community that needed to be warned not to apostatize, not to turn away from Christianity. But no dogmatic conclusion can be reached on a more precise identification of the danger could consist in. The drift of the argument on the levitical cultus, the exhortations and argumentations from the exposition of so many Old Testament passages would possibly give weight to the theory that the danger was that of relapsing into Judaism, a theory held by numerous scholars. However, this is an inference, though reasonable. But each further step in order to identify the exact form of the apostasy to Judaism will be conjectural.

The Impossibility of a second repentance in the Epistle to the Hebrews. We have argued in this assignment for an interpretation of the impossibility of a second repentance, which is neither entirely psychological, nor is to be understood and complemented by inferences from Greco-Roman patronage, but it is an inherent impossibility, having in its background a theological argument: so splendid is the revelation of God in Jesus Christ, that turning away from it in apostasy is a way that excludes any chance for a second repentance.

A dolgozat a szorongás témájával foglalkozik, s arra keresi a választ, hogy a bibliai tanúságok tükrében miként lehet segítséget nyújtani azon embereknek, aki szorongásos panaszokkal küzdenek. A témával való foglalkozás szükségszerű, hisz a gyülekezeti közösségeinkben is sok ember van, akiket a szorongás érzése megkötöz. Ezért a lelkipásztoroknak, szükséges némi jártasságra szert tenni e témát illetően, hogy hatékony segítséget tudjanak nyújtani a szorongással viaskodóknak. A dolgozatban ennek érdekében a pszichológiai definíciók ismertetéséből kiindulva a teológusok fejtegetésein keresztül jutunk el a Biblia üzenetéig, levonva azt a következést, hogy az Istennel való kapcsolatunk rendezése révén, Krisztus útmutatását követve átélhetjük a szorongásinktól való szabadulás élményét, így már mindennapjainkat nem azok fogják meghatározni, hanem olyan felszabadult életvitel, amelyben Isten hűséggel munkálkodó sáfárai lehetünk.
