In this research, I have explored the theme of the immortality of the soul in the light of Plato's and Calvin's view of the soul. The work is divided into two major parts: in the first part, I examined Plato's and Calvin's view of the soul and the immortality of the soul, and in the second part, I compared the results of the first part. In the course of this research, I have discovered the similarities and differences in the details of the two conceptions. Eight units of thought were identified for the comparison and within these units, different themes were compared between the two conceptions. In the last point, one of the main questions of the topic was answered, namely whether the soul is immortal or impermanent. Although Plato and Calvin had different points of view, in the end the two concepts were the same: the soul is immortal.

A vizsgálat során megismerhettük, hogy hogyan jött létre a Görgényi Református Egyházmegye, hogyan szakadt el a Marosi Református Egyházmegyétől, valamint anya- és leányegyházai sorsa hogyan alakult. Betekintést nyertünk II. József kiadott türelmi rendeleteibe, hogy ezek mit foglaltak magukba és milyen hatással voltak a kor református gyülekezeteire, illetve más felekezeteire. Láthattuk, hogy annak ellenére, hogy a türelmi rendeletek nagy része a reformátusok kárára szolgáltak, mégsem tettek ellene semmit, viszont végezetül elmondhatjuk, hogy a megmaradt néhány rendelet, mely a reformátusok javára szólt, elindította a Görgényi Református Egyházmegyét a fejlődés útján. Az egyházmegye keletkezésének és eseményeinek vizsgálata, valamint a kor református egyháztörténetének bemutatása után a legnagyobb egységhez értünk, az esperesi vizitációhoz, melyben elsőízben az esperesi vizitációról esett szó általánosan.

A tanulmány célja a hiánypótlás. Ennek első felében Alexandriai Kelemen Krisztus-himnuszának helyét keresem az őskeresztyének kegyességi gyakorlatában, majd a himnusz metrikáját vizsgálom, és azt próbálom megállapítani, hogy az ókori görög lírikus költészetnek melyik ágához tartozhat. Ezt követi a himnusz szövegének a magyarázata.

Dolgozatomban elsősorban Alexandriai Kelemen Krisztus-himnuszában található költői képek és eszközök, illetve teológiai gondolatok kibontására törekedtem. Ezáltal szerettem volna rávilágítani arra, hogy milyen hatással volt a görög filozófia Kelemen teológiájára, illetve a hellén kultúra mennyiben befolyásolta a himnusz gondolat- és képvilágát.
