This thesis investigates the paraliturgical practices associated with funerals in selected congregations of the Maros Reformed Church County. These customs, though situated outside the framework of the official funeral liturgy, nevertheless bear significant religious meaning—manifesting in practices such as night vigils, various forms of farewell, and communal support for the bereaved. The study examines both their theological and practical dimensions: how these practices are embodied in congregational life, how they interact with the Reformed funeral tradition, and what role they play within the grieving process. The overarching aim of the thesis is to enrich the understanding of Reformed ecclesiastical practice and tradition, with particular attention to perspectives on death and dying.

A dolgozat a temetéssel kapcsolatos paraliturgikus elemeket vizsgálja a Marosi Református Egyházmegye néhány gyülekezetében. Ezek a liturgián kívüli, ám vallási jelentőséggel bíró szokások (virrasztás, a búcsúformák, gyászolók támogatása,) teológiai és gyakorlati jelentőséggel bírnak, munkánk során ezeket térképeztük fel. Megvizsgáltuk, miként vannak jelen a gyülekezetek életében, hogyan kapcsolódnak a református temetési hagyományhoz, és milyen szerepet játszanak a gyász feldolgozásában. A dolgozat célja, hogy hozzájáruljon a református egyházi liturgiai gyakorlat jobb megértéséhez, ebben külön kiemelve a halálhoz való viszonyulást.

At the center of my thesis stands pastoral care, in the light of the transgenerational perspective, with particular attention to the context of marriage. Transgenerationality refers to legacies that span across generations, which have an unconscious impact on the individual’s life and relationships. The aim of my thesis is to point out that the effectiveness of pastoral care can be increased if we keep in mind the systemic approach and the patterns inherited across generations. The theoretical background of the thesis consists of a combination of biblical, psychological, and family therapy perspectives, with special emphasis placed on Böszörményi-Nagy Iván’s contextual therapy. I outline the key role of loyalty and transgenerational effects in detail, and—based on the issues of partner selection patterns, conflict resolution, and intergenerational responsibility—I extend the focus to marriage, as one of the most sensitive channels of transgenerational transmission.

Dolgozatom középpontjában a lelkigondozás áll, a transzgenerációs szemlélet megvilágításában, különös tekintettel a házasság kontextusára. A transzgeneráció olyan nemzedékeken átívelő örökségeket jelent, amelyek tudattalanul is hatást gyakorolnak az egyén életére és kapcsolataira. A dolgozatom célja, hogy rámutasson arra: a lelkigondozás hatékonysága fokozható, ha szem előtt tartjuk a rendszerszemléletet, illetve a generációkon át öröklődő mintázatokat. A dolgozat elméleti hátterét bibliai, pszichológiai és családterápiás szempontok elegyének az összessége teszi ki, ahol különös hangsúlyt fektetek Böszörményi-Nagy Iván kontextuális terápiájára. Részletesen vizsgálom a lojalitás és a transzgenerációs hatások kulcsfontosságú szerepét, illetve a párválasztási minták, a konfliktuskezelés és az intergenerációs felelősség problematikája nyomán kiterjesztem a házasságra, mint a transzgeneráció egyik legérzékenyebb csatornájára.
