Liturgical renewal attempts in the Unitarian church from the early 20th century to the present. This research examines the liturgical reform efforts within the Unitarian Church from the early 20th century to today. Analysis of relevant literature reveals a consistent call for renewal among ministers and parishioners, though translating this desire into action is fraught with challenges. The study concludes by highlighting essential components of successful liturgical renewal to guide and motivate those contemplating such changes.

Valentinus and His Teaching in the Light of Modern Research and Ancient Christian Heresiology -- The first part of this paper contains a summary of the life and teachings of Valentinus written by Bernadett Szűcs, in which the author sketches the most important aspects of this complex topic based on the early Christian primary sources harmonized with the state of the modern research. As an appendix to this introduction, the second part of this paper, written by György Papp contains the first Hungarian translation (accompanied by the original Greek text from the recently published critical edition) of one of the primary sources with a short introduction, to the text: the chapter about Valentinus in the Haereticarum fabularum compendium of Theodoret of Cyrus.

This paper presents the doctrine on baptism in the Haereticarum fabularum compendium of Theodoret of Cyrus. From this presentation we learn that Theodoret presents in this work a multi-contextual image of the “all-holy” baptism. The divine origin of the sacrament determined Theodoret to offer it a special place within his theological system. This special place is expressed through the setting of the chapter concerning baptism as well: it is put between the soteriological Christology and the chapters concerning Theodoret’s eschatology, the latter being an introduction to the ethical chapters.

Miközben a tudományos kutatások szintjén megtörtént az áttörés és folyik a protestáns graduálok újra felfedezése, feldolgozása, értékelése, addig az egyházi közvélemény szintjén még mindig ott tartunk, hogy ezek az eredmények alig-alig mentek át a köztudatba. Pedig semmiképpen sem szégyellni való hagyományelem ez, hanem számon tartandó érték.

Az unitárius liturgia történetének mindent átfogó részét ismertető mű megírásával eleddig még senki sem foglalkozott, csupán részletek ismertetésével, s dolgozatom is valami effélét nyújthat. Azonban bízom abban, hogy próbálkozásom mégsem lesz hiábavaló, hiszen dolgozatom egy helyre próbálja tömöríteni az elmúlt majd’ 450 esztendő liturgiai ismereteit.
Kutatásaim egy részét a levéltári és könyvtári anyagok képezik, nagyobbik részét a Keresztény Magvetőben megjelentetett tanulmányok, dolgozatok cikkek. E mellett segítségemre volt még az Uzoni-Kozma-féle Egyháztörténet, korabeli magán tulajdonban lévő énekes- és imakönyvek, és más különböző tanulmányok, folyóiratok.
