Valentinus and His Teaching in the Light of Modern Research and Ancient Christian Heresiology -- The first part of this paper contains a summary of the life and teachings of Valentinus written by Bernadett Szűcs, in which the author sketches the most important aspects of this complex topic based on the early Christian primary sources harmonized with the state of the modern research. As an appendix to this introduction, the second part of this paper, written by György Papp contains the first Hungarian translation (accompanied by the original Greek text from the recently published critical edition) of one of the primary sources with a short introduction, to the text: the chapter about Valentinus in the Haereticarum fabularum compendium of Theodoret of Cyrus.

This paper presents the doctrine on baptism in the Haereticarum fabularum compendium of Theodoret of Cyrus. From this presentation we learn that Theodoret presents in this work a multi-contextual image of the “all-holy” baptism. The divine origin of the sacrament determined Theodoret to offer it a special place within his theological system. This special place is expressed through the setting of the chapter concerning baptism as well: it is put between the soteriological Christology and the chapters concerning Theodoret’s eschatology, the latter being an introduction to the ethical chapters.

18. század erdélyi református teológiatörténetének utolsó jelentősebb eseménye az Endemann-per volt. Jelentősége abban áll, hogy ez volt az utolsó tanfegyelmi kivizsgálás, amely a református hitvallások érintetlenségét és tisztaságát kívánta védelmezni a felvilágosult, racionális ortodoxiával szemben. Éppen ezért furcsa az, hogy a per történetével kevesen foglalkoztak, valahogy elkerülte a kutatók figyelmét.

Ebben a részben főleg a szociológus és filozófus Zygmund Bauman (1925–2017) társadalomról alkotott felfogásáról lesz szó. Elöljáróban néhány gondolat erejéig az ő személyéről és az úgynevezett likvid modernitás fogalmáról szólok.

Talán nem meglepő, hogy protestáns teológusként, illetve református teológiai tanárként a reformáció 500 éves jubileumi évében a reformációról kívánok elmélkedni, vagy inkább fogalmazzak így: a reformációról kívá- nok önök előtt hangosan gondolkodni még akkor is, ha a reformáció témájáról számtalan előadást, értelmezést hallhattunk már ebben az évben. Mégis válla- lom a kockázatot, mert sajátos és talán szokatlan szemszögből kívánok közelí- teni a témához, s olyan kérdéseket szeretnék ma feszegetni, amelyek a jubileumi év felfokozott hangulatának elmúltával várnak majd válaszra, kiértékelésre. Szemlélődésem kiinduló kérdése ez: vajon miben sajátos ez a mostani, a mi nemzedékünk által megélt reformációjubileum?

1791. évi küküllővári zsinaton határozatban tiltották meg Endemann Sámuel németországi egyetemi tanár tankönyveinek erdélyi használatát. Az ügynek semmiféle előzménye nem volt, a két hazai érintett tanár, Zilahi Sebes János és Bodola János pedig meglepődve vette tudomásul a zsinat határozatát. Mindketten hosszú levelet írtak a maguk mentségére, amelyben elutasították az eretnekség vádját, és procedurális hibák elkövetésével vádolták a zsinatot. Egyetértettek abban is, hogy Endemann Sámuel a református ortodoxia kiemelkedő teológusa volt, akinek igazhitűségét sem Németországban, sem máshol nem kérdőjelezték meg, viszont elismerték, hogy teológiai rendszerében olyan kérdésekkel is foglalkozott, illetve olyan válaszokat adott, amelyek eltértek a hagyományos református hitvallási iratoktól.

Die Schöpfung der Welt. Die Schöpfungserzählung der Bibel war und ist auch heute ein Diskutionsthema, nicht nur für die Theologie, sondern auch für die Realwissenschaften. Kann man die zwei Forschungsresultate miteinander in Harmonie bringen? Oder soll man sie ganz voneinander trennen und sagen, dass die Bibel eine Frage des Glaubens ist und mit der wissenschaftlichen Forschung und deren Theorien nichts zu tun hat? Diese Publikation versucht die verschiedenen Interpretationen des Textes darzustellen und gleichzeitig zeigt sie auch eine andere Art den biblischen Text zu lesen. Das ist die literarische Interpretation des Textes. In dieser Interpretationsart bekommt der biblische Text eine neue Dimension, der nach der biblische Text nicht nur eine einfache Glaubensfrage, sondern ein solches literarisches Werk ist, in dem der Verfasser theologisch den ganzen Werdegang dieser Welt beschreibt.
