In this research, I have explored the theme of the immortality of the soul in the light of Plato's and Calvin's view of the soul. The work is divided into two major parts: in the first part, I examined Plato's and Calvin's view of the soul and the immortality of the soul, and in the second part, I compared the results of the first part. In the course of this research, I have discovered the similarities and differences in the details of the two conceptions. Eight units of thought were identified for the comparison and within these units, different themes were compared between the two conceptions. In the last point, one of the main questions of the topic was answered, namely whether the soul is immortal or impermanent. Although Plato and Calvin had different points of view, in the end the two concepts were the same: the soul is immortal.

A vizsgálat során megismerhettük, hogy hogyan jött létre a Görgényi Református Egyházmegye, hogyan szakadt el a Marosi Református Egyházmegyétől, valamint anya- és leányegyházai sorsa hogyan alakult. Betekintést nyertünk II. József kiadott türelmi rendeleteibe, hogy ezek mit foglaltak magukba és milyen hatással voltak a kor református gyülekezeteire, illetve más felekezeteire. Láthattuk, hogy annak ellenére, hogy a türelmi rendeletek nagy része a reformátusok kárára szolgáltak, mégsem tettek ellene semmit, viszont végezetül elmondhatjuk, hogy a megmaradt néhány rendelet, mely a reformátusok javára szólt, elindította a Görgényi Református Egyházmegyét a fejlődés útján. Az egyházmegye keletkezésének és eseményeinek vizsgálata, valamint a kor református egyháztörténetének bemutatása után a legnagyobb egységhez értünk, az esperesi vizitációhoz, melyben elsőízben az esperesi vizitációról esett szó általánosan.

The idea of moving the theological education from Nagyenyed/Aiud to Kolozsvár/Cluj was born in the middle of the 19th century. Domokos Szász, former reformed priest from Kolozsvár/Cluj, and from 1885 bishop of the Transylvanian Reformed Church, was the most prominent supporter of founding the new centre of theological training in Kolozsvár/Cluj. After long debates and preparations, the construction of the new theological institute was completed in 1895. The current study presents the press debates around this event, offering an insight into press articles published in Kolozsvár/Cluj, concentrating mainly on the Erdélyi Híradó (Transylvanian News) a newspaper supporting the party opposing the moving of the theological training to Kolozsvár/Cluj. These articles throw light on the diverging positions regarding this event.

A gregorián ének történetének különös és számunkra fontos állomásához érkezett, amikor az eredetileg latin nyelvű tételeket anyanyelvre fordították. Természetesen nem lehet kizárólag a reformáció javára írni az anyanyelvűséget, hiszen már az előző századokban is meghonosodtak népnyelvű énekek.1 Bár ezek az első magyar nyelvű, nem szorosan a liturgiához tartozó gregorián tételek a katolikus egyház használatához kötődnek, a latin nyelvű gregorián magyar nyelvre fordításának folyamata elsősorban a reformáció hatására bontakozott ki. Az a cél ugyanis, hogy a liturgia a teljes gyülekezet számára érthetővé váljék, a reformátorok munkálkodásával került előtérbe.
