In this research, I have explored the theme of the immortality of the soul in the light of Plato's and Calvin's view of the soul. The work is divided into two major parts: in the first part, I examined Plato's and Calvin's view of the soul and the immortality of the soul, and in the second part, I compared the results of the first part. In the course of this research, I have discovered the similarities and differences in the details of the two conceptions. Eight units of thought were identified for the comparison and within these units, different themes were compared between the two conceptions. In the last point, one of the main questions of the topic was answered, namely whether the soul is immortal or impermanent. Although Plato and Calvin had different points of view, in the end the two concepts were the same: the soul is immortal.

A reformkorban Magyarország számos iskolájára jellemző volt az, hogy egy-egy tanév önképzőköri munkáját a diákok felnőttek bevonásával kötetbe tömörítették, és nyomtatott formában közzétették. Ez a fajta olvasóközönség-kialakítási szándék foglalkoztatta a nagyenyedi diákokat is. Dolgozatomban a nagyenyedi Bethlen Gábor Kollégium reformkori önképzőkörének irodalmi termését elemzem. Virágkosár címmel három diák-önképzőköri gyűjtemény jelent meg az 1835, 1836 és 1837-es tanévekben. A kötetek szemléletváltás eredményeként jöhettek létre: megjelenésüket a felvilágosodás korabeli iskolareform, illetve olyan pedagógusok munkássága készítette elő, akik az anyanyelvhasználatot támogatták.

A vizsgálat során megismerhettük, hogy hogyan jött létre a Görgényi Református Egyházmegye, hogyan szakadt el a Marosi Református Egyházmegyétől, valamint anya- és leányegyházai sorsa hogyan alakult. Betekintést nyertünk II. József kiadott türelmi rendeleteibe, hogy ezek mit foglaltak magukba és milyen hatással voltak a kor református gyülekezeteire, illetve más felekezeteire. Láthattuk, hogy annak ellenére, hogy a türelmi rendeletek nagy része a reformátusok kárára szolgáltak, mégsem tettek ellene semmit, viszont végezetül elmondhatjuk, hogy a megmaradt néhány rendelet, mely a reformátusok javára szólt, elindította a Görgényi Református Egyházmegyét a fejlődés útján. Az egyházmegye keletkezésének és eseményeinek vizsgálata, valamint a kor református egyháztörténetének bemutatása után a legnagyobb egységhez értünk, az esperesi vizitációhoz, melyben elsőízben az esperesi vizitációról esett szó általánosan.

On Sámuel Köteles’ Ethical Conception and the Criticism of Kantian Ethics. The present study is a short presentation of Sámuel Köteles’ ethics, in the mirror of Transylvanian and German Enlightenment. The study proves the existence of some basic similarities between the philosophical-ethical conceptions of Kant and Fichte and on the other hand the works of the above mentioned leader of 19.th century Transylvanian culture. I considered also important to achieve a critical overview of the entire kantian ethical construction using among others Max Scheler’s points of view, the one that proves some deficient theses of Kant’s transcendental conception. Finally my presentation focuses on the great importance of Köteles’ works and the conjunction of events that made him the most excellent propagator of the kantian philosophy in Hungarian.
