The objective of this study is not to provide an exhaustive theological analysis, but to explore the multifaceted implications—biblical, historical, theological, ecumenical, and ecclesiastical—that are essential for forming a well-rounded perspective on the contentious issue of rebaptism that has sparked considerable debate within our Church community.

Examining Some Ethical Issues in the Context of War -- One of the main questions of this paper is whether the arguments in defence of war can be coupled with equal concern for the laws of war. While a permissive reading of the classical, theological just war tradition draws a number of conclu-sions that can be debated, this essay has attempted to draw attention to the fact that Augustine's questions of disordered political commitments (loves) are insep-arable from the more familiar questions of “right reason”, “right power” and “right intention”. Augustine’s reading reminds us that political desires still determine not only decisions to enter into armed conflict, but also the application of the inter-national law. On the one hand, politics is a means of influencing the dominant powers, a means of spreading their values, but also a means of holding them to account. It is also the voice of the oppressed and the vulnerable.

Ebben a részben főleg a szociológus és filozófus Zygmund Bauman (1925–2017) társadalomról alkotott felfogásáról lesz szó. Elöljáróban néhány gondolat erejéig az ő személyéről és az úgynevezett likvid modernitás fogalmáról szólok.

Több milliárd dolláros üzletággá nőtte ki magát a világban a béranyaipar. Hogyan illeszthető egy ilyen szenvtelen közgazdasági megállapítás a megszülető emberi élet misztériumához? Az alábbiakban röviden ismertetem a béranyaság jelenségét, valamint az ezzel kapcsolatos alapfogalmakat, ennek romániai jogállását és gyakorlatát más országok szabályozásának kontextusában, végül pedig néhány etikai szempontot fogalmazok meg a problémaegyüttesre nézve.

Paul Ricœur utolsó nagy munkája, a 2000-ben megjelent La mémoire, l’histoire, l’oubli a következő kérdéskörrel foglalkozik: „a múlt reprezentciója az emlékezet és történelem szintjén, a felejtés kockázatának árnyékában”, avagy „egy hiányzó dolog jelenvaló reprezentációja”. Ennek legpregnánsabb képi megjelenítését és drámai sűrítését a szerző a wiblingeni kolostorban (Ulm) megpillantott szoborkompozícióban véli felfedezni. Bennünket azonban nem az így jelzett általános történetfilozófiai kérdésfelvetés érdekel, hanem az a speciális etikai és hermeneutikai perspektíva, amelybe Ricœur elhelyezi ezt a problematikát.
