Tanulmányom két tudásterület, a természettudomány és a teológia alapvető különbségeit vizsgálja. Közismert tény, hogy a természettudomány empirikus megfigyelésen és kísérleteken alapszik, míg a teológia a hitre és a kinyilatkoztatásra támaszkodik. A természettudományos ismeretek értelemmel ellenőrizhetőek, a teológiai igazságokat viszont hittel elfogadjuk vagy logikusan kikövetkeztethetjük, így ezen igazságok nem mindig ellenőrizhetőek empirikusan. Mindkét tudásterület az ember szellemi erőfeszítésének eredménye, így közös céljuk, hogy eligazítást nyújtsanak a létezés nehezen hozzáférhető részeivel kapcsolatban. Lehetséges igaz kijelentéseket tenni olyan valóságokról, amelyek nem hozzáférhetők az empirikus tapasztalatok számára? Tanulmányomban erre és ehhez hasonló kérdésekre keresem a választ.

Valentinus and His Teaching in the Light of Modern Research and Ancient Christian Heresiology -- The first part of this paper contains a summary of the life and teachings of Valentinus written by Bernadett Szűcs, in which the author sketches the most important aspects of this complex topic based on the early Christian primary sources harmonized with the state of the modern research. As an appendix to this introduction, the second part of this paper, written by György Papp contains the first Hungarian translation (accompanied by the original Greek text from the recently published critical edition) of one of the primary sources with a short introduction, to the text: the chapter about Valentinus in the Haereticarum fabularum compendium of Theodoret of Cyrus.

The study of the historicity and change processes of dance culture requires a specific theoretical methodology in dance anthropology and dance folklore studies, especially since such research has been relatively rare in the Hungarian anthropological scene and has produced a number of questionable results in the field of dance folklore studies. several aspects of an anthropological approach, as well as adopting a comparative and interpretive approach to critical dance studies can assist in deploying a historical perspective in the examination of dance culture. On the other hand, I will also argue that certain schools of the research methodology of social history may facilitate this as well. Utilizing the findings of new social history can also greatly enrich the current methodology of historical dance research.

This paper presents the doctrine on baptism in the Haereticarum fabularum compendium of Theodoret of Cyrus. From this presentation we learn that Theodoret presents in this work a multi-contextual image of the “all-holy” baptism. The divine origin of the sacrament determined Theodoret to offer it a special place within his theological system. This special place is expressed through the setting of the chapter concerning baptism as well: it is put between the soteriological Christology and the chapters concerning Theodoret’s eschatology, the latter being an introduction to the ethical chapters.

Révai kis lexikona 1936-ban közölte Edvard Munch Az élet tánca című festményének fekete-fehér reprodukcióját a modern külföldi festők mellékletében. A „tánc” magyar szavunk német közvetítéssel honosodott meg nyelvünkben. Jelentése: a zene hangjaira ritmikusan mozogni, ugrálni, könynyedén  és gyorsan forogni. Az ókorban azt a körtáncot jelentette, amelyben a nők vagy férfiak összefogózva körben forognak. Ez a tánc az örömöt fejezte ki. Témája már az ókortól ismert a képzőművészetben, amint azt a Kr. e. 4–5. századból származó Táncoló peucetiai nők című falfestmény is bizonyítja az olaszországi Ruvo di Puglia (Bari megye) táncosainak sírján.

Ez a könyv tulajdonképen kísérlet, amelyet eredetileg egy gyakorlati szükség váltott ki. A kolozsvári teológiai fakultás egyik módszeres értekezletén merült fel az a gondolat, hogy a teológiai hallgatók számára szükséges lenne gondoskodni arról, hogy teológiai tanulmányaik és az egyház jelen élete kérdései között a kapcsolat világosabban álljon előttük, hogy azok, akik a teológiai tanulmányok folyamán megismerkednek az Ige szolgálatának alapvető követelményeivel, lássák azt is, hogy ez a szolgálat milyen feladatokat állít eléjük abban az egyházban, ahol szolgálnak, annak mindennapi életében, a világban elfoglalt helyzetében s azokban a gyülekezetekben, ahol az Igét hirdetniök kell.
