In the past decades, research has raised the idea of a theology of the Septuagint (LXX) on various occasions. Important works were recently published on this topic in the Handbuch zur Septuaginta and the Septuagint and Cognate Studies series. The general theological tendencies of the LXX are identified by scholars in eschatology, messianism, anti-anthropomorphism and angelology. These tend to all be regarded as further developments of the theology of the Hebrew Bible (HB). However, one can trace the evolution of these and other main topics of the LXX in the New Testament (NT) and in the later apostolic writings as well. Based on three concise case studies, I point out the evolution of theological ideas from the HB through the LXX up to the NT in this paper.

The purpose of the Epistle to the Hebrews. In this essay we argue that the particular purpose of Hebrews is obscure for the modern reader. It is clear, that it was addressed to a particular community that needed to be warned not to apostatize, not to turn away from Christianity. But no dogmatic conclusion can be reached on a more precise identification of the danger could consist in. The drift of the argument on the levitical cultus, the exhortations and argumentations from the exposition of so many Old Testament passages would possibly give weight to the theory that the danger was that of relapsing into Judaism, a theory held by numerous scholars. However, this is an inference, though reasonable. But each further step in order to identify the exact form of the apostasy to Judaism will be conjectural.

Választott témánkban is az utolsó tudományos cikk unitárius körökben 1979-ben íródott Gellérd Imre unitárius lelkész, tanár, teológiai szakíró tollából. Ez a tény késztetett arra, hogy 35 év után ismét vizsgálat tárgyává tegyük a prédikáció időszerűségét. Noha az unitárius szakirodalomnak híján is voltunk, azért Gellérd Imre imént említett tanulmányát vettük alapul és emellett átfésültük a többi protestáns felekezet (evangélikus, református) e témában írt tanulmányait, amelyek a XX és XXI. században jelentek meg.
