This thesis explores how Christian mission can maintain its credibility amid the social, cultural, and technological challenges of the 21st century. Religious pluralism, globalization, secularization, and the rise of digital communication have radically transformed the frameworks through which the Christian message is conveyed. The church can no longer assume inherent authority; it must rethink its mission, language, and forms of engagement. The study analyzes the historical and theological development of mission concepts, drawing on the paradigm shift theories of Thomas S. Kuhn and David J. Bosch. According to the Missio Dei perspective, mission is God’s sending to the world, in which the church participates. The thesis examines key stages of mission history, postmodern identity dynamics, shifts in global Christianity, forms of digital mission, and contextual and liberation theology approaches.

A dolgozat azt vizsgálja, miként őrizheti meg a keresztyén misszió hitelességét a 21. század társadalmi, kulturális és technológiai kihívásai közepette. A vallási pluralizmus, globalizáció, szekularizáció és a digitális kommunikáció radikálisan átalakította a keresztény üzenet megszólalásának kereteit. Az egyház ma már nem magától értetődő autoritásként működik, küldetését, nyelvezetét és kapcsolódási formáit újra kell gondolnia. A dolgozat történeti és teológiai szempontból elemzi a misszióértelmezés fejlődését, Thomas S. Kuhn és David J. Bosch paradigmaváltás-elméleteire támaszkodva. A Missio Dei szemlélet szerint a misszió Isten küldése a világ felé, amelybe az egyház bekapcsolódik. Bemutatásra kerülnek a missziótörténet fő szakaszai, a posztmodern identitásviszonyok, a globális kereszténység változásai, a digitális misszió formái, valamint a kontextuális és felszabadítás-teológiai irányzatok.

The aim of this thesis is to examine the extent to which the elusive postmodern zeitgeist influences ordinary people's faith in God, their relationship to the church, and the congregational demands of the Christian church. It also seeks to answer how far the teachings of Dietrich Bonhoeffer, the influential theologian who was martyred during World War II, can respond to these congregational needs. The topicality of the paper lies in its aim to provide a systematic theological framework for Reformed congregational pastors and members, with the aim of providing them with a theoretical basis for confronting postmodern problems. One such problem may be the scepticism and relativism that is characteristic of postmodernism and that is present in the life of the average church member today. A further challenge for the church may be the change in postmodern language and the isolation of individuals from one another.

If we are commanded to remember the Sabbath in the Ten Commandments, why do we go to worship on Sunday? In my paper, I am seeking possible answers to this question. At the beginning of my research, I outline the position of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. In the following sections, I aim to present a biblical alternative to this position. I argue that the Sabbath institution was not known to the Jewish people before their wilderness wanderings. But here it becomes the sign of the Mosaic covenant. Since the covenant was made with the Jews, the Lord does not require foreign nations to observe the Sabbath. But God promises to make a new covenant that will not only apply to the Jews. This has been realised in Jesus Christ. He is the one to whom the Sabbath points. In light of this, we cannot cling to the shadow when the light of the world has come among us.
