In this research, I have explored the theme of the immortality of the soul in the light of Plato's and Calvin's view of the soul. The work is divided into two major parts: in the first part, I examined Plato's and Calvin's view of the soul and the immortality of the soul, and in the second part, I compared the results of the first part. In the course of this research, I have discovered the similarities and differences in the details of the two conceptions. Eight units of thought were identified for the comparison and within these units, different themes were compared between the two conceptions. In the last point, one of the main questions of the topic was answered, namely whether the soul is immortal or impermanent. Although Plato and Calvin had different points of view, in the end the two concepts were the same: the soul is immortal.

Valentinus and His Teaching in the Light of Modern Research and Ancient Christian Heresiology -- The first part of this paper contains a summary of the life and teachings of Valentinus written by Bernadett Szűcs, in which the author sketches the most important aspects of this complex topic based on the early Christian primary sources harmonized with the state of the modern research. As an appendix to this introduction, the second part of this paper, written by György Papp contains the first Hungarian translation (accompanied by the original Greek text from the recently published critical edition) of one of the primary sources with a short introduction, to the text: the chapter about Valentinus in the Haereticarum fabularum compendium of Theodoret of Cyrus.

Az iskolai lelkigondozás paradigmaváltást jelent az individualizmustól a perszonalizmus irányába. A lelkigondozás által rámutatunk arra, hogy az ember több mint individuális lény. Az embert kapcsolatai, igényei és vágyai alapján lehet megérteni és megközelíteni. Az erőfeszítés eredménye nem minden esetben egy boldog ember, hanem egy olyan személy, aki érzékennyé válik a mások igénye iránt. Ez pedig a misszió lehetőségét vetíti elő.

Amikor egy kisgyermek fél vagy szorong, a legegyszerűbb őt ölbe venni és mesélni valami szépet, érdekeset és biztatót neki, hogy szűnjön a félelme, oldódjon a szorongása. Lelkipásztorként sokszor kellett megállnom magányos emberek, kórházi ágyakon fekvő betegek vagy gyászolók mellett temetéseken. Gyakran tapasztaltam, hogy saját szavaim elégtelennek bizonyultak, ami a bátorítást illeti, de egy jól megválasztott alapige vagy elbeszélt-elolvasott történet érezhetően oldotta a magányos, a beteg vagy a gyászoló ember szomorúságát, szorongását. E tapasztalatok sora vetette fel bennem a lehetőségét annak, hogy talán célzatosan lehet használni a bibliai történeteket szorongásoldásra. Ahogy a kutatás elkezdődött, kiderült, hogy a szorongás és a történetmegértés többek között korosztályfüggő, ezért le kellett szűkítenem a kutatási területemet a kisgyermekkora, mely a gyermek életében körülbelül 12 éves koráig tart.

Minden tudományág művelőjének kiválóan kell ismernie tudománya tárgyát, és ez a követelmény az emberrel foglalkozó tudományok esetében is fennáll. Így például a jó orvosnak nem elég csupán a beteg fiziológiai panaszaival foglalkoznia, hiszen akkor csak a tüneteket kezeli, hanem a teljes embert kell szem előtt tartania. A jó pszichológusnak is hasonlóképpen kell cselekednie, ha érdemben akar foglalkozni az ember úgynevezett lelki világának gondozásával. Az említett követelmény fokozottan igaz a teológiára is. Ugyanis a teológiai tudománynak az ember is tárgya. Amikor azonban úgy beszélünk a teológiáról, mint amely az emberrel is foglalkozik, világosan kell látnunk néhány dolgot.
